BC Summer Games coming to Prince George

April, 2022

On Wednesday April 13, 2022, many gathered at the Canada Games Plaza in Prince George, BC to celebrate 100 days out from the BC Summer Games.

BC Games alumni Cody Bailey (2016 BC Summer Games – golf) and Alyson Emberley (2020 BC Winter Games – ringette), served as torch bearers for this very special event

The BC Summer games are British Columbia’s celebration of sport and community. They have taken place in 38 communities and have involved more than 350,000 participants and volunteers over the years.

Each year, the goal of the BC Games is to bring together the top high performance athletes, coaches and officials from across the province for just four days of competition.

This year, the games will take place from June 21 – 24 and will feature up to 3,761 participants overall with approximately 2,800 athletes and over 900 coaches and officials.

This is the first time since 1990 that Prince George will be hosting the Summer Games, and Engage Sport North is excited to participate in supporting volunteers, athletes and coaches from the North as they represent our region.
