FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Engage Sport North Seeks Active Star Program Sponsor Support in Prince George

Media Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Prince George, BC, January 23, 2024

Engage Sport North is seeking a sponsor to continue the delivery of its popular Active Star program in Prince George.

(PRINCE GEORGE, BC, January 23, 2024)Engage Sport North is seeking a sponsor to continue the delivery of its popular Active Star program in Prince George.

“We are seeking a sponsor for our free preschool physical literacy program, Active Star, in Prince George,” says Sarah Saunders, Director of Sport Development with Engage Sport North. “The program serves as a vital resource for our northern community, offering children ages 2-5 a unique opportunity for physical activity and social interaction, particularly during the colder months.”

Active Star runs Mondays through Thursdays from the fall until the spring at the Northern Sport Centre. In 2023, over 1,000 enthusiastic preschoolers participated in Active Star. During each session, Engage Sport North Program staff lead games, activities, and free play stations that build physical literacy, giving children the competence, confidence, and motivation to be physically active for life. Previous grant funding for Active Star ended in 2023

“Active Star’s success lies not only in promoting physical fitness but also in fostering social skills and a love for an active lifestyle from an early age,” says Sarah. “This is an excellent opportunity for a local business to connect with active families and youth in Prince George by helping Engage Sport North continue to deliver this program.”

Businesses interested in sponsoring Active Star may contact Sarah directly by email at sarah@engagesportnorth.com for further information.
