Proudly sponsored by Local Rental Solutions, Engage Sport North has partnered with the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (ISPARC) to provide a strength & conditioning program for indigenous athletes ages 10 to 13 (Vim) & 14 to 19 (Vigour).
This program is for youth who want to live an active lifestyle, get started in the gym and/or on the track, or are looking to improve their performance in a specific sport.
Our trainer will work with the individual’s wants and needs to build a program for them where they are at physically. The program focuses on improving performance and injury prevention, including:
- Fundamental movement skills and motor pattern development
- Mobility work
- Testing to assess performance measures pre, mid and post program
- Resistance training with a focus on proper technique
- Agility training to increase the ability to explosively start, decelerate, change direction, and accelerate again while maintaining control.
