Engage Sport North Partners with the City of Prince George and Community Associations to Bring Recreation Close to Home

We’re thrilled to share the exciting news of our recent grant distribution in October, where we proudly awarded grants to 11 well-deserving recipients. This round of grants signifies our continuous commitment to supporting individual athletes and teams in Northern BC by facilitating their travel and participation in various competitions.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the incredible accomplishments of our grant recipients. Check out their photos and a short description of some of their achievements below:

Jin – Nechako Karate Club

Jin, an outstanding member of the Nechako Karate Club, showcased remarkable prowess at the 2023 National Championships and the 2023 WKF Youth League in Merida, Mexico. His dedication and passion for karate are truly commendable.

Jules – Northern Bounce

Jules’s dedication and hard work at Northern Bounce is genuinely inspiring.

Track Team – Sir Alexander Mackenzie School 

The Sir Alexander Mackenzie School Track Team has demonstrated exceptional teamwork and determination, setting an excellent standard for sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Colby – Ridge Country Farm

Colby’s outstanding achievements in equestrian show jumping, with her beloved horse Snickers (also known as Big Ticket), have earned her a well-deserved spot at the Canadian National Finals. We extend our heartfelt best wishes to Colby for her upcoming endeavours.

Fastball Team – U17 PG Thunderbirds

The U17 PG Thunderbirds Fastball Team has showcased unwavering spirit and dedication, setting an exemplary standard for youth athletes in the region.

Lily – Canada Futures (BC) Showcase 2023

Lily, a talented fastball athlete, recently showcased her exceptional skills at the Canada Futures (BC) Showcase 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her passion and determination are truly inspiring for young athletes everywhere.

Cillian –  Junior Pan-American Karate Championships

Cillian, representing the Nechako Karate Club, recently made waves as a Team Canada athlete at the Junior Pan-American Karate Championships in Santiago, Chile. His dedication to the sport and remarkable achievements have brought pride to our community.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Northern British Columbia Centre for Sport Development and Support (NBCCSDS) for funding these grants, which are instrumental in enabling Engage Sport North to foster a culture of sports excellence and development in Northern BC.
