We are Hiring! Sport Discovery Summer Program Leader - Fort St. John

We are hiring for a Sport Discovery Summer Program Leader in Fort St. John.

This is a term position (July and August): 30-35 hours per week, $18-20/hour

Engage Sport North offers an introduction to sports opportunities and physical literacy skill development for children of all ages and abilities through Sport Discovery programming. The Role of the Sport Discovery Program Leader is to lead Sport Discovery programs and other sport development projects as directed by the Director of Sport Development.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Plan, promote and lead the Engage Sport North Summer Sport Discovery program
and other Engage Sport North projects
Liaise with community partners to coordinate program logistics
Provide a fun, inclusive environment and encourage all program participants
Plan for physical literacy instruction using games and activities (training provided)
Provide a quality experience for participants and caregivers
Work cooperatively with participants, caregivers, and supervisors to ensure safety

Experience Needed:

Experience working with children
Experience participating in or leading/ coaching Sport or Physical Activities
Experience coordinating programs and events

Skills:

Organizational skills to plan sport activities & implement effectively
Effective verbal and written communication
Responsible, outgoing, friendly, energetic, self-starter
Ability to think critically and act logically, evaluate situations and generate steps to succeed

Other Attributes:

Work proactively with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a team environment
Energy to participate in physical activities

Requirements:

Legally entitled to work in Canada
Applicant must be able to provide a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector
Valid Driver’s License with access to private transportation
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age, as per Canadian Summer Jobs requirements
